Getting ready for the summer

We spent a while getting the toilets ready for visitors on the campsite although it’s too wet for anyone to get on and off as yet. No chance of anyone here for Easter that’s for sure.

Made a nice batch of celery soup for lunch this uses up a couple of outside stalks that are sometimes tough. Yesterday was another cheap lunch day – just an omelet  to use up some of the excess egss that we can’t sell. They are from the older hens and can be wrinkly or odd shaped. I also made a big coffee sponge to use up some more of the eggs.

Reading all the frugal blogs makes me wish we had an Aldi or Lidl nearer than 25 miles away. So many people seem to find really good bargains there. I heard that Tesco are doing a price guarantee thing with a voucher back if your shopping would have been less at Asda etc. I shall have to see how this goes next month.

Still wet and cold and looking as if spring will never arrive, although Him Outside heard a Mistle Thrush early this morning when he let the chickens out.
